Figure 2a from Application of Molecular Techniques to Problems in Rice Pathology report
Title supplied. Caption: "Leaf cross-sections of rice variety C039. Fig. 2a, b, and d: sections are stained with Uvitex. 2a. Uninoculated leaf. Note the fluorescing green epidemerial cells and vascular bundles in contrast with the light yellow parenchymal cells.

Figure 2c from Application of Molecular Techniques to Problems in Rice Pathology report
Title supplied. Caption : "Leaf cross-sections of rice variety C039. Fig. 2a, b, and d: sections are stained with Uvitex. Fig. b, c, and d: 4 days after inoculation with Pyricularia oryzae isolate P06-6. 2c. Stained with Sass Safranin-Fast Green. Note that the mycelial growth does not stain differently from the host cells."

Figures 1a-d and Figures 1e-h from Application of Molecular Techniques to Problems in Rice Pathology report
Title supplied. Caption for Figures 1a-d: "Interaction between rice variety C039 and P. oryzae isolate P06-6 (compatible). (a&b) At 48 hours after inoculation (HAI), some appressoria have not yet produced infection hyphae (IH) while some had produced infection hypae (IH) in the bulliform cell (BC). (c ) At 72 HAI, growth of infection hypae (IH) inside the bulliform cell (BC) was noted. Note shrinkage and darkening of infected parenchyma cells (IPC). (d) At 96 HAI, the infection hyphae (IH) had colonized the bulliform cells (BC). Note the necrotic parenchyma cells (NPC). Bars= 10mm." Caption for Figures 1e-h: " Interation between wild rice 0. minuta and P. oryzae isolate P06-6 (incompatible). (e&f) At 48 HAI, some infection peg (IP) were not able to penetrate at the bulliform cells (BC) while some were able to produce infection hypae (IH) in the bulliform cells (BC). (g) At 72 HAI, the infection hyphae (IH) had ceased growing and had started to deteriorate. (h) At 96 HAI, slight browning of very few parenchyma cells (BPC)." -
Figure 2d from Application of Molecular Techniques to Problems in Rice Pathology report
Title supplied. Caption : "Leaf cross-sections of rice variety C039. Fig. 2a, b, and d: sections are stained with Uvitex. Fig. b, c, and d: 4 days after inoculation with Pyricularia oryzae isolate P06-6. 2d. Note the fluorescing blue-green mycelial growth which can be differentiated easily from the yellow parenchymal cells."
