Caption: "A continuous liquid-liquid extractor in use for the extraction of steroid sex hormones from body fluids. The extracting fluid is benzene which is being continuously dispersed in a watery phase, thereby extracting and concentrating the sex hormones. In one operation the hormones may be concentrated from 2,000 to as high as 200,000 times. RF photo #21632.
